London Disaster message: Terrorists are alive!

I was shocked by what happened in London. Many analyst believe that it is a signal for the UK about all that has done in Iraq. I think except the painful situation for the UK this horrible event shows that the terror machins are strong enough to follow their targets. Amercicans follow anti terrorism activities everywhere.they try to find out any small threat. But the terrorists have their own way to get ride of Americans. This is a lesson for the world. Actually American officials are the first who are facing with this disaster. They belive themselves as the Pioneers against terror. I am so sad for the poeple in London. I am so sad for the poeple who their life put in danger because the Americans think that they are fighting agains terror.Even the normal people pay the expenses.

One day I went to the American embassy for getting visa. They asked me many questions. Many and many. Things that never mentioned at their forms. İt made me so disappointed. I respect all treatment against the terror activities but as an Iranian saying ı believe they have lost the right way for praying. İ was wondered that many of these policies only hurt the poeple. At that time I was decidıng to forget for going to US even for study becasue of the rude behavior I faced. However I know how americans like many other poeple all around the world are kind and respectful.

I was wondered that how they dont understand the differences between somebody who all his life has been involved for defendeing the poeple’s right and somebody who is going to go to US for terror or something like that. But I am sure at the same time terrorist enter the US by their ways they know. Because they must be stupid if going to the embassy and ask for the visa and answer the questions which are mentioned on the forms. One of the questions asks the applicants to confess any involvment in terror attack or something like that. What do you think? Does anybody confess at the US consulate or embassy that has been involved in any terror attack?
So you see many of the Americans policies are only normal poeple’s oriented. But terrorists are alvive as well. They are breathing from the same atmosphere they the UK polititions or Americans use it.
I wish that they become at last succesful. I think everybody wish to destroy terrotist all over the world. But can the current policies achieve this goal? Can they now tell us how do they evaluate all their acvities? Can they tell us what are the tengible achievements? Can they tell us that how normal people all around the world can forgive them for all that changed their life beause they are not sure what they are doing? Would anybody tell us please?

I think in coming future the American conservative politicians use this bombing for more and more new hard policies. Now nobody knows what they do. But I am sure they never lose this gloomy opportunity.

I see your point about the stupidity of asking if someone has ever been a member of a terrorist plot or organization (in fact, it made me laugh), but if you're offended, don't come. It's that simple. There are hundreds of thousands who will jump at the chance to take your place in line.

Life in US, UK and soon the rest of Europe is going to keep getting harder and harder for muslims. Indeed, do you really think Turkey will be admitted into the EU within the next 100 years?

Unfortunately, good-hearted regular people are the ones who suffer most from this, but that's my prediction.

The attempt here is to use human intuition to understand your motivations, behaviour etc. Something that just cannot be done on a form.

If someone asks you if you are a terrorist plot (and if you were) would you be an accomplished enough liar to fool an experienced person.

As far as difficulty in getting a visa, well tough. Find a way to keep islamist from blowing up innocent people, you might find that you would be more welcome.

And as anonymous said, it will NOT get any better if this continues, only worse and the countries and peoples who are getting blown to bits are NOT at fault, the terrorists and the inabilit of the muslim people to condemn this behaviour is.

Criticizing US and UK administrations for defending their freedom and open-minded civilization without mention of your own government which denies any rights of thought or action, much less political activity, is either naive or hypocritical.

Examine your own thoughts and those of your theocratic totalitarian leadership before lashing out at others.

Call me when it is as bad as the way non-Muslims are abused and mistreated in Islamic counties.

Better yet call us when Islam has a reformation which strikes concepts like dhimmitude and jihad from its core beliefs. Call us when females have voting rights in all Islamic countries, when tribal behavior like honor killings and female circumsion are outlawed.

Better yet call us when Islam has a reformation which allows tolerance for other religions and cultures, strikes jihad and dhimmitude from its core principles, gives women equal status, and encourages a secular life for its adherents.

Oh, and please call us after we see huge public rallies of Muslims denouncing the terror invoked in Allah's name - a Million Man Muslim rally in protest of terror would be about right.

Basically, just start taking some damn responsibilty for anything related to the rot that is Islam and countries that are Islamic.

Here's a question: why would any sane tolerant democratic non-Muslim want to risk importing the intolerance and violence inherent in Islam?

And please don't respond that the majority of Muslims are peaceful reasonable people because it is becoming too obvious that their silence is as dangerous as the silent accomplices in Nazi Germany.

That was a nice piece that you put out very quickly. While I am not surprised that you got a rude reception at the US Embassy when you applied for a visa there, I am very sorry you had to go through all thatdifficulty. It does not give you, or anyone else who has to go through that process, a good feeling for Americans.I would only add that the (....)people you talk to at the Embassy are very frightened that the one person who does get through and creates harm in the US,was allowed to entry the country by them! As a result, they could face huge problems with their career, and may even be fired. This is of course just one reason why the Embassy people are rude--there is a lot of pressure by higher-ups to act in the way they do. But everyone behind an official desk, regardless of what country they are in, faces human pressures to act the way they do. This is just a thought. We are thinking of you.
Best,
Charlie

Dear Friends
The point at the comment is actually the important isssue you are angry about that. But it tries to say which way is better. Just this. To use a dark and white approach in the war against terrorism can not be succesful. When we are talking we have to forget all of anger about some special events to watch clearly about the factors that make the horrible mentioned issuse. At least social activist all over the wprld who are following changes in their socıeties think globaly to solve the human disasters. So of coure there are many obstacles in my country of the other countries. But it is not a good reason to ignore the role of all people who can involve the better life all over the worls. when the İnternational development terms develops the solidarity between the communities increases. Any way thanks for your comments. It has many messages.

Dear Omid,
Why don't you do something worthwhile with your life and start a revolution to create freedom in Iran rather than moan about how stupid the Americans are for not letting you come here?
You dare to complain about Bush or Blair when you live in a country where your former leader thought having sex with animals was a good idea.
By the way, you didn't get in, did you? Seems to me that we aren't so stupid after all.

My goodness, I never imagined that people in the US were so inhospitable. Well, obviously the civilized ones are not responding to you...only the ones who see the world in black and while and let's face it, isn't this easier? Well, I say this is the greatest country in the world. Because at the end of the day, hate never wins over love and this is a country that has as its core essense tolerance and plurarity--the crimes against humanity, our treatment of indians, and slaver, not withstanding. For my share, I would like to apologize for the many nasty comments to your posts. These people don't realize that Al Qaeda was armed and supported by the US--or they forget. They don't understand that Saddam Hossein was armed and supported by the US--up until he attacked Kuwait! or they choose to forget, and see it all in black and white. I am sure that the person at the embassy is just doing his/her job. It is a tough job. and unlike the comments before me, I am not sure that these people are so well trained, afterall the the 9/11 terrorists were all here legally. Our biggest ally in the Middle east is Saudi Arabia, and this is the wors of the worst forms of oppressive governments. Most of these repressive governments in the middle east are not freely elected and they maintain their control because of US support. There is a genuine struggle for freedom and democracy in Iran and it will happen. It is just too bad that when the Iranian people did manage to get a democratic leader in place in Iran, the US overthrew him through a coup (mossadegh). I would like to see a revision of our history in the US and our negative role in developments in the middle east and other Islamic countries. And in turn the way we process information and understand it will change. This is what is needed for real change. We need as a country an electorate that is better educated about international political developments. Then it will be hard to see things as black and white--it will no longer be so easy to demonize the other. I say bring them on. bring me your tired, your hungry, your poor...and those who have suffered at the injustices at the hands of their governments and their international supporters.

It is difficult for Americans to understand the mindset of people who will kill innocent civilians in the name of "God". This is not what I believe a belief in God mandates. The continuing violence in Iraq, by outsiders, that is hindering the creation of a government that can benefit the people of that region is criminal. I hope the ordinaly people of that country will rise up and say "enough, we have had it with death - let us work together to have peace".

Omid,
Think globally about this: Mohammed was a thief, a warlord and a pedophile. These are self-evident truths that go the full distance in explaining the trouble with Islam.

The global implications are enormous. The solution must include a vast Muslim reckoning with the fact that Islam is a fraud; it's 'principles' corrupt and it's core beliefs evil.

The riyal is based on the worth of a camel. What the Wall Street Journal didn't publish was the worth of a Sudanese person. Apparently and even more evilly, he's not even worth a camel. How can we have anything but disgust for this way of life?

In the April 9, 2002 issue, The Wall Street Journal published the concept of blood money in Saudi Arabia. If a person has been killed or caused to die by another, the latter has to pay blood money or compensation, as follow.

100,000 riyals if the victim is a Muslim man
50,000 riyals if a Muslim woman
50,000 riyals if a Christian man
25,000 riyals if a Christian woman
6,666 riyals if a Hindu man
3,333 riyals if a Hindu woman

According to this hierarchy, a Muslim man's life is worth 33 times that of a Hindu woman. This hierarchy is based on the Islamic definition of human rights and is rooted in the Quran and Sharia (Islamic law). How can we talk of democracy when the concept of equality in Islam is non-existent?
